Iced Oat Milk Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

Pumpkin spice mixture:
½ cup oat milk (barista blend if possible)
⅓ cup brown sugar (white is okay too)
2 tsp pumpkin puree
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp vanilla extract
Latte
2 shots of espresso
1 cup oat milk
1 tbsp pumpkin spice mixture
½ cup whipped cream (optional)
2 ice cubes (if enjoying cold)

Pumpkin spice mixture:
1. In a small sauce pan, add oat milk, sugar, pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie spice. Bring to medium heat and whisk ingredients together until sugar is dissolved. Do not let it boil.
2. Once the mixture starts to steam and the sugar is completely dissolved, remove the pan from heat and stir in the vanilla. Strain through a fine mesh filter into a glass jar for easy storage.
Latte:
3. Pull your espresso shots, and pour inside your desired coffee mug. Add the strained pumpkin spice mixture to the espresso and stir well.
4. If enjoying warm (skip to next step if enjoying iced), steam your milk using a steam wand, milk frother, or mason jar (see post above to make foam without a frother) until foamy. Pour velvety milk on top of the espresso mixture.
5. For iced pumpkin spice lattes, add 2 to 3 ice cubes or cold brew coffee cubes to your mixture.
6. Top with whipped cream, if desired, and dust with pumpkin pie spice. Enjoy!

Instant Iced Honey Lavender Oat Milk Latte Recipe

Ingredients:

Iced Honey Lavender Oat Milk Latte
1 tbsp honey lavender syrup
¾ cup barista blend oat milk (or milk of your choosing)
2 tsp instant coffee
¼ cup boiling water
Honey Lavender Syrup
1 ½ tbsp culinary-grade lavender flowers (dried)
½ cup water
¼ cup honey
¼ cup granulated sugar

Instructions:

Honey Lavender Syrup:
1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, add the 1/2 cup of water along with the lavender flowers. Bring to a gentle boil, and then reduce the heat to medium low.

2. Add the honey and sugar to the saucepan (still over medium low heat), and whisk until the honey and sugar have completely dissolved. Allow the mixture to stay on the stove over medium low heat for about 2 to 3 more minutes (after the sugar and honey have dissolved). Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool completely. Strain through a fine mesh strainer to remove the lavender flowers. Store in a small glass jar in the fridge until ready to use.

Instant Iced Honey Lavender Latte:
3. Place your instant coffee in a small glass. Pour the boiling water over the instant coffee granules and stir until completely dissolved. Next, stir in the honey lavender syrup until completely dissolved. Set aside.

Note: This will not be the glass you serve your drink in. You will need to get a separate glass filled with ice for serving.

Optional Step for Frothing Oat Milk (If skipping, proceed to Step 5):
4. Pour your oat milk into a tall glass, leaving about two to three inches above the milk so the foam has room to grow. Using an electric frother, froth the milk for about 30 to 45 seconds until your desired texture has been reached. Start with the frother completely submerged into the milk, then after about 15 seconds, slowly bring it up just beneath the milk's surface to create more froth.

5. Pour the oat milk (frothed or not) into your serving glass. Add the espresso & honey lavender syrup mixture next and stir. Add more honey lavender syrup to taste. Garnish with one or two dried or fresh lavender sprigs. Enjoy!

Vacuum Siphon Coffee Maker Recipe

Ingredients:
27 g medium ground coffee (freshly roasted)
400 g filtered water

Instructions:
1. First, attach the filter to the bottom of the upper chamber. To do so, there is a little metal chain attached to a clip (the filter) that you should see dangling out of the funnel. Pull the chain down far enough to get the clip to attach the bottom of the funnel. If you don’t do this part correctly, your coffee will be ruined. You can also reference your siphon coffee maker’s user guide for a diagram on how to do this. Set the upper chamber safely aside while you proceed to the next step.

2. Once the filter is properly attached, pour the water (preheated water is best) into the lower chamber. Place the upper chamber on top of the lower chamber. Loosely place the funnel inside of the bottom chamber just so that it sits at an angle.

3. Place your heat source underneath your siphon brewer. Next, turn the heat up high and wait for the water to boil. Pressure will build in the lower chamber, pushing the water upwards through the funnel into the upper chamber.

4. Reduce the heat once most of the water is up top. Next, add your measured coffee grounds to the upper chamber. Start a timer, and stir the coffee grounds into the water using a wooden spoon or bamboo paddle. Move your paddle in the shape of the letter “N.” Move it up, down, up, left and then right.

5. This motion will ensure that the coffee grounds get completely submerged in the water. Wait about 45 seconds, and then stir it again in this same motion of the letter “N.” After about another 45 seconds, turn the heat off. Allow the coffee to flow to the lower chamber.

6. At this point, all that's left to do is remove the upper chamber and serve your siphon coffee.

Pair these oatmeal cream pie minis with a nutty, medium roast coffee. Since these cookies contain oats, they naturally pair well with nutty flavors (you can even thrown some nuts into the recipe if you’d like!). Plus, their mini size makes them perfect for dunking!

For a specific recommendation, I would suggest @intelligentsiacoffee Frequency Blend. It has tasting notes of almond, dried fruit, and milk chocolate — all of which would taste good in an oatmeal cookie!

5 Things Every Coffee Bar Needs

You can easily create a DIY coffee station or coffee bar at home. Here’s a brief list of some decor ideas & coffee must-haves to kickstart your own coffee bar design.

1. A Dedicated Space - Kitchen hutches have recently become popular for repurposing into trendy coffee bars. You can also use a table or a cart in combination with some floating shelves on the wall. I recently saw someone repurpose a grand piano as a coffee bar!

2. A Color Scheme - Choose two or three colors to make up your coffee bar’s color scheme. Often, one solid color paired with more neutral tones work best.

3. Brewing Instrument - This is the star of the show. You can have multiple brew instruments or just one such as an espresso machine, a Chemex, or whatever you love using to make coffee.

4. Coffee Instrument Accessories - Depending on your brew instrument, you will need certain accessories (i.e. filters, pods, etc.). There are a lot of great options for housing these kinds of items such as ceramic or wooden canisters. Choose something that will fit within the color scheme you’ve selected.

5. A Personal Touch - This can be something as simple as a plant or something more extravagant like a light-up coffee sign.
